It can only be....

The Admin Wrap!

This week's newsletter is brought to you by....

Gifts For Assistants

As much as we love the chocolates our bosses bring us back from the airport, sometimes we wish we had a permanent reminder of just how awesome we are.
Gifts for Assistants is a super sweet range of little pressies to show your assistant just how much you appreciate them.

Or maybe just buy yourself a little something 🎁
Go on - you know you deserve it!

Worth a Read

  • Those "experts" over at Cosmo have been explaining that if we all work from home on a more permanent basis, then we could expect to see a pay cut. Hmmm... are these the same "experts" who taught us how to do our own bikini wax with leftover Christmas candles back in the 90s? We hope not.

  • If your company is looking to build a stronger culture now that a lot of your teams are working remotely, have a little read through these tips in The Telegraph

  • Paula Harding had a chat with Michael Quigley and we learn all about what the Second Law of Thermodynamics has to do with our roles as assistants (clue: more than you think!)

  • Exceptional EA (aka, Queen Shelagh) took a poll to find out what assistants have been doing during lock down. 72% of us have been enjoying being able to dress casually (translation: we've been wearing yoga pants 85% of the time. Hell yeah! 🧘🏼‍♀️)

  • The Assistant Room have opened up their super shiny Membership for July for a LIMITED Time. If you want in, get in now: we don't know when those glittering membership doors will close again *presses face against them* Let us in!!

HUUUUUGE congratulations to Daniel Skermer - the brains and beauty behind The PA Forum - has become a Certified COACH!
His first Cohort will be specifically for VAs so reach out to him directly if you want to know more.

  • The Association of Professional Administrators in Ireland (APAI) is hosting a virtual event on Zoom on 16th July. Sign up as a member to get access!

  • The PA Way just dropped YET ANOTHER super cool event that is bound to sell out in five seconds. Spa-ty, anyone? 🧖🏼‍♀️

  • It's Quiz-Thursday over at The Office Management Portal on Thursday 9th July with their Virtual Meetup. Plus, learn how to make a cocktail. Insert Quarantini joke 🍹

  • Got an event you want to shout about? Let us know!

Brought to us by The PA Club, Dr Greg Lavery (from Rype Office) shares his four Hs of returning to work after lock down (and no, it's not four types of wine that begin with H - we already thought of that).

Get yourself a cuppa and have a watch - with reviews like "not as gloomy as it sounds", you really can't miss this! (honestly, it's actually really good)

  • STOP THE PRESS! Microsoft has only gone and launched a MASSIVE initiative to get us all trained up during lockdown. PLUS they are giving free access to their LinkedIn Learning paths so you can get help with things like Finding a Job During Challenging Economic Times. Bravo, Microsoft, Bravo 👏🏼

  • If Slack is the new e-mail in your company, check out these tips on how to create slack reminders, or set up your Do Not Disturb

  • Shaw Academy are offering FREE access to all of their courses for 4 weeks! You've only got until the end of the weekend to sign up, so what are you waiting for!? Nice one, Shaw! 🙌🏼

That's a Wrap

  • This person has taken social distancing to the extreme, by living in a barrel for two months. Eh?

  • Coffee or Cola? Cola or Coffee? Or perhaps both? Umm, no thanks, Costa

  • If you've been in the garden and have spotted some creepy crawlies you need to remove, perhaps don't try this method

  • If you are enjoying this newsletter, you can buy me a coffee! (I can't promise that I won't exchange it for wine)
